If it wasn't for the roach infestation, I would have stayed. The price is reasonable. The neighbors are quiet (although there is a Black guy on the lower level who sells drugs or something). It's a nice area.
Location is on the line of Mableton and Austell GA. 8 to 10 minutes from Six Flags over GA. There is a pizza joint across the street. For everything else you need transportation. Like most Lodge. It has its mix of residence. Long term families. Then the one nighters. Bldg is shaped like a L. If you park any where inside the Last. Your automobile is subject to damage. The children are just that. Kids being kids. They have no other place to play. Rooms are comfortable and neat.
From the looks of the office, I had high hopes that I would be satisfied with my stay. The grounds are clean and cared for, so that pretty much assured me.. That is until I got settled in my room. With people living in places like this, I expected to see a roach here or there. But ooh my goodness gracious roaches were EVERYWHERE!! I didn't use the dishes because they were all inside of the cupboard. Didn't use the drawers because they were there too. In fact, when I removed the kitchen drawers (I cleaned the place top to bottom with bleach and hot water) I swept up so many roach carcasses, I was disgusted! Being new to the Atlanta area and working a job that granted little time to find a place, I tried to stick it out. But what I CANNOT deal with is roaches crawling on my bed, pillow, or myself!! I basically kept the lights on when I was away and adjusted to sleeping with the room lit up, in attempt to limit the number of critters running around. I used up two whole, brand new cans of raid in SEVEN DAYS. Boric acid did NOT help. Pest control came on a Tuesday and he uses the spray that practically ATTRACTS more bugs... No pest control uses that anymore- they use gel.
After the week concluded, I didn't pay for a second week. The lady in the office was understanding and apologetic- although I do feel she was not truthful when she says she's NEVER saw a bug in her room (corner unit on the lower level). The black lady gave me a funny look on the day I left and I read it as, "Ooh, you think you're too good to stay here." Well yes, lady. I've never lived with roaches before and I don't see why now at 27 I should start.
This place is disgusting!! Roaches, roaches, roaches!!! They do nothing about the problem and furthermore act as if you were the cause of the roaches. Sorry, haven't had roaches in all 30 years of my life until having to live here. Furthermore, the staff is rude, especially the so called maintenance man. The managers and cleaning lady do more gossiping and drama causing than work. They pick and choose who can follow what rules and who they want staying there it don't matter if you stay to yourself and pay in full on time. They are more worried about someone working on their car in the parking lot to get back and forth to pay their rent than they are the numerous drug use, sales and activities that go on on a constant basis. Nearly every room you walk by reeks of marijuana. The cops are there frequently. This place needs to be restaffed and updated. Unfortunately there are a few really great people who end up here. I only hope they don't eventually fall victim to the staff who will literally make up reasons to kick you out for no other reason than they have nothing better to do with their lives as they live and work in the same pit of hell everyday of their life. I highly advise people to not stay here especially if they are not into sleeping with roaches and high school drama.
Omg this place is scary. Not only does the outside in compete disarray, the people not only look horrible but they smell too. Trash everywhere....the tastiest people you could possibly think of are here. I know we as people sometimes fall to the tragedy of hard times and I completely sympathize but just because you are hard up for cash, doesn't mean you have to neglect the frequent use of a shower. There was a young lady there bragging about how she stole meat from the store and sold it...ok. I get that but if you can steal meat to sell to get a score as she stated (I'm assuming dope) then why can you not steal a bar of soap along with other much needed toiletries? When your cloths can stand on their own and you have fur babies on your teeth, I'm going to go ahead and say you should be stealing more than meat if you must steal at all. I do not understand why low income help ALLOWS individuals come into their establishment and ruin it with their filth. How about everyone getting some outside chores in order to stay? Why not some room inspections to make sure these filthy individuals are keeping your housing and extended stays up to par? Doesn't this ever occur to any of you owners? It just baffles me how some of these extended stays just let nasty individuals come and destroy what they worked so hard for to achieve. Clean this place up, do some maintenance, kick the filth out, do inspections of the rooms to keep it nice then guess what? You can charge more for a cleaner and nicer establishment and put more money in your pocket. Drug free people who keep things in a neat and orderly fashion will never stay at a place like this because they do not want to live around people of low standards. People don't mind spending money if they know they are getting a quality stay that is clean, safe and drug free. Raise your standards as a establishment and the rest will take care of itself. Smh this should be common sense.
This is a good deal for the price. Management seems to be pretty cool so far no problems. As far as the bugs, there were some in the room at first, but we were able to get rid of them within the first week by using a bug killer (not just the spray) from Wal-Mart and KEEPING IT CLEAN. It's not a place to stay long-term though. Especially if there are more than 2 people in the room.
